Onduparaka FC skipper Rashid Toha has been heavily linked with a possible move away from Betway Greenlight stadium in the last two weeks but all this has come to an end after a deal to join KCCA FC caved in.
The lanky defender took to his official Facebook account to announce he will stay at Onduparaka despite interests from the Uganda Cup winners.
Toha notes that after meeting Onduparaka FC management and consultations with his family, he finally decided to remain at the Arua based side.
“I am remaining at Onduparaka FC,” he started before adding, “ I want to thank the management of KCCA FC for their interest they showed in me and it means a lot to me as a footballer and a person, but after meeting the management of Onduparaka Fc and sharing with my family about the transfer, we finally came with a solution of me remaining in the club and I am looking forward to the season 2018/19 season with Onduparaka FC.” He noted.
Toha has been a mainstay in Onduparaka’s team being one of the key players. He has been with the club for over four years helping the team gain promotion to the top flight league two years ago.
His abilities have not only ended at Onduparaka but has been on several cases summoned to the Uganda national team.
Last year, the lanky defender and Muhammad Shaban also a former Onduparaka FC player and now with KCCA FC went for trials at Super Sport United in South Africa albeit the deal failed to materialize.
After the departure of Shaban last season, Toha was appointed the new captain of the caterpillars helping the club to finish 4th in the league.
