Coach Sam Timbe has threatened to sue Wakiso Giants for publicizing his job application in the media without his permission.
The coach was one of those who lined up for the head coach job at the newly-promoted club but the position was snapped up by Kefa Kisala.
In his complaint, Timbe is unhappy that the club went on to reveal the name of applicants without his consent- in other words, the confidentiality clause was broken.
“We are glad that you successfully sourced and recruited a head coach,” the letter seen by this website reads. It adds: “You are aware that Mr Sam Timbe, a Ugandan and holder of Caf A coaching Licence had interest in the same job; and indeed applied on June 3, 2019, which application you acknowledged to have received. You
did publish his name on a short-list you shared in the public domain; “Whereas you knew that you had made no natural effort to contact him in regard to the same. Whereas, it’s your liberty to employ any method in your recruitment need, hoodwinking the public could lead to dire consequences.
Timbe, therefore demands that the club explains their “motive for short-listing Mr Timbe and circulating the same” and “Write an apology to Mr Timbe, his family and friends for creating innuendos intended at belittling his coaching career.”
Failure to comply with the demands, the coach has threatened to seek legal redress.
