Armed robbers travelling in a Toyota Premio on Monday afternoon robbed Okello Emmanuel, a journalist with Uganda Radio Network.

According to Okello, the thugs have taken Sh600,000, new laptop and a camera, among other properties. Okello said was heading to his village in Buhirigi, when the thugs found him at Central Primary School in Kiganda, Hoima city.

“They stopped and offered me a lift but on the way, one of the man pulled out a gun and told me to surrender what I had,” Okello said in an interview.

He added that face was wrapped with a cloth and they turned back the vehicle towards Hoima. Upon reaching Butanjwa, Okello says the thugs pulled him out and dumped him by the roadside.

Okello said the driver of the Premio asked his colleagues to put him out of action that he had seen them, however the colleagues turned down and later they drove off towards Kampala side.
