Three Remanded to Kitalya over Assault on Police Officer

Buganda Road Grade One Magistrate Joan Ketty Aca has remanded three people to Kitalya prison for hitting a female police officer before stealing her phone in the recent city demonstrations.

These included Lubyayi Godfrey 20 years, a mechanic and resident of Aidan Zone Ndejje Wakiso district, Semakula Muhammad 20 years, businessman and resident of Kikajjo Namasuba Makindye Division Kampala district and a one Ahimbisibwe Marvin.

Lubyayi is alleged to be the man in the video which went viral as a civilian attacked a Police officer who was attempting to clear off ‘road block’ material mounted up by rioters in Kampala.

These have been charged with aggravated robbery, the charge they have denied before being remanded to prison until December 14, 2020.

Its alleged that the accused, with others still at large, on 18th November 2020 at Nakivubo road Kampala district robbed ASP Kasule Consilata of a Techno Mobile phone valued at one hundred and fifty thousand shillings (150,000) and at or immediately after the said violence, used actual violence thereby causing grievous harm to the said Kasule.
