The ill-fated canoe was reportedly carrying 7 people including a 4 months old baby.

These were sailing back home from Nyamiryango.

Four of the seven, including the baby were safely rescued after the canoe overturned, but the other three couldn’t.

Tarasisio Barinde, an eyewitness says the incident happened at around 6:30pm on Tuesday.

Barinde said that the canoe was blown by heavy winds on the Lake at that time.
