TECNO Mobile Uganda, the leading smartphone brand in Uganda is set to have its second edition of the mini Marathon this Weekend.
Dubbed “Heroes in Color Run 2019” that will be happening on Saturday 7th September at Lugogo Cricket Oval, is aimed at raising funds for a noble cause under the TECNO CSR umbrella.
The Heroes in Color Run is an annual corporate social Responsibility (CSR) by TECNO Mobile Uganda in partnership with other companies, general public and stakeholders to raise awareness of a critical social problem that needs collective attention to avert and this year the focus is raising funds to purchase computers, printers and other items for secondary schools in Mukono District.
This year’s Heroes in Color Run is bigger and better and in a better which is expected to attract thousands. TECNO has partnered with big brands like MTN Uganda, Star Times and Bell to make the dreams of these students come true.
Last year’s run focused on maintaining a girl child in school by purchasing re-usable sanitary pads for the girls in Kamuli. This year’s Heroes in Color Run theme is “Digitalizing secondary schools”
“At TECNO, we not only mind about producing the best smartphones but we care and are committed to serving our customers to have the best phone experience but also mindful about social problems affecting us. ‘Heroes in Color Run’ is our annual event where we gather for a common cause as we have fun together.
We also use Heroes in Color run as an awareness platform for societal issues that need our attention and collective effort. We therefore come together to raise funds to avert these issues in question,” explained TECNO country Managing Director, Mr. Carter Tang.
He also added that, “Heroes in Color Run is not just any other event on the Ugandan Calendar, it is a charity event to change our society through collective effort. As a technology brand that has been here for close to 11 years, we understand the importance of technology and we want to spread this further to our customers.”
Tang further encouraged members of the Public to join them in making the desired dream come true.
Gates will open at 8am with a mini Marathon of 5km starting at exactly 10:00am and later followed with lots of fun activities like kwepena, board games, dancing & singing competition, face painting and bouncing castles for kids among others.
There will also be entertainment and performances from top Ugandan artists including; Jose Chameleone, Spice Diana, Grenade, Nina Roz, DJ Shiru and many more other surprise acts.
