The Chief Political Commissar (CPC) Maj Gen Henry Matsiko has inspected the ongoing civil military activities in the Kampala Metropolitan Area to mark the 40th Tarahe Sita anniversary celebrations.
Tarahe Sita activities were launched by His Excellence General Yoweri Museveni in the greater Masaka region and are meant to give back to the communities for the support given to the Forces.
Among the activities carried out in Wamala village Wakiso district, the UPDF constructed a house for 90 year old Namugga Kasalina, did medical outreaches and campaigns, fumigation and distribution of mosquito nets.
Other construction projects; class room blocks, wells, bridges, and toilets have also been completed.
“It is our tradition as UPDF to always give back to community as a way of appreciation and cementing our relationship with the wanaichi,” Gen. Matsiko said.
The beneficiaries of the various projects hailed the UPDF for the timely intervention.
This year’s Tarahe Sita national celebrations are in greater Masaka region under the theme “Celebrating UPDF at 40; fruits of fulfilled partnership of maintaining and consolidating the peoples’ security, stability and prosperity.”
