Uganda Cranes holding midfielder Taddeo Lwanga has completed his move to Tanzania Premier League reigning champions Simba Sports Club.

The transfer was officially confirmed on Wednesday via Simba Sports Club’s social media accounts.

“welcome to Msimbazi, Taddeo Lwanga (@Taddeolwanga) is an international defensive midfielder playing for the Ugandan National Team and has previously played for Express FC, SC V Kampala(SC Villa) and Tanta FC,” read the club tweet.

Lwanga joins the Tanzanian giants as a free agent having mutually terminated his contract with Egyptian Premier League side Tanta Sports Club after accumulated unpaid salary arrears.

Previously, he was linked to complete a U-turn to Express Football Club in the Uganda Premier League but the deal failed to go through as both parties didn’t agree on working conditions.

Besides Express, he has in the past played for Sports Club Villa and Vipers Sports Club in the Uganda Premier League.

He joins Nicholas Wadada, Cleo Setuba, Boban Zirintusa, amongst others as Ugandans currently playing their trade in the Tanzanian Vodacom Premier League.
