Susan ‘ Super Lady’ Muwonge remains the only woman to win the Uganda national rally championship not just once but twice.
Muwonge sealed the 2018 championship in the season finale in Mbale District last month to add to the maiden one she won seven years ago.
Her efforts did not go unnoticed as sports journalists under their umbrella body Uganda Sports Press Association(USPA) on Monday voted her the Nile Special sports personality for the month of November
During their monthly assembly convened at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala Muwonge got a total of 455 votes to scoop the coveted accolade.
Frank Kahesi of Kwese TV nominated Muwonge to the list and was seconded by Dorothy Nekesa.
She beat off competition from Uganda Cranes(430 votes), golfer Eva Mwagala(335 votes) and swimmer Kirabo Mirembe (420 votes).
The Cranes beat Cape Verde to qualify for 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, Magala won the Nigeria open while Namutebi scooped nine gold medals at the CANA 3 Zonal Championship in Sudan.
Uganda Cranes and KCCA FC forward Patrick Kaddu, Nkumba Ladies Volleyball team, Nemostars and golfer Irene Kalembe despite not making the nomination list were commended for their performance in the same month.
This was the first monthly meeting under the leadership of new USPA President Patrick Kanyomozi who was sworn in together with his executive at the same function.
