Study in Greece Shows Major Difference Between Labeled and Actual CBD Contents

GemmaCert revealed the results of a scientific study that indicates a significant discrepancy between labeled and measurable cannabidiol, or CBD, on commercially available Greek products.

These results are a matter of grave concern, both in terms of safety and efficiency.

Grand View Research tells that the whole CBD market around the world is forecasted to reach $9.69 billion USD that leads to growing at a CAGR of 32.6%. For example, the companies that produce popular cbd wax ( well show such statistics.

The study was conducted by Professor Pulas Konstantinos and his team from the Department of Pharmacy at the University of Patras in Greece and, in collaboration with GemmaCert Ltd., a market leader in cannabis analytics with customers in more than 20 countries.

What you see is not what you receive

Several products legally available on the Greek market from seven companies were analyzed using the industry gold standard for cannabis potency testing, high-performance liquid chromatography. And GemmaCert potency testing solutions based on a patented technology that combines infrared data spectroscopy, analysis.

Calculations from both devices show that, on average, product labels underestimated the CBD level by 50.8%.

The full conclusions will be made public at the 20th International Congress of the International Society of Ethnopharmacology, to be held in Thessaloniki, Greece, in April 2020.

High-tech testing

The results of 206 tests also confirm a close correlation between HPLC and GemmaCert. The average variance between the two analytical methods is 9.63%. It is good to consider that the GemmaCert test device is a fraction of the cost of an HPLC machine.

Today CBD can be found in many products for the consumer such as cbd tea and coffee, oils, cbd wax for sale from cosmetics and personal care products to food supplements and pharmaceuticals, which makes testing more critical every day.

This year GemmaCert demonstrated the manufacturing first predicted field test to effectively detect the percentage of THC present in cannabis, which is only 0.2%, to distinguish within a few minutes between cannabis and cannabis accurately.

Apart from only cultivators and processors that need on-site testing, the machine is a find from a law enforcement point of view. Distinguishing the difference between cannabis and marijuana has become a problem for police officers.

To help distinguish CBD cannabis from THC cannabis, the authorities have compiled a list of plant varieties allowed on the market. This raw material should contain only 0.2% THC in accordance with French law to avoid confusion (compared to cannabis containing at least 15% THC). Therefore weed good could be considered lawful including cbd wax legal.

The global CBD market which manufactures best cbd wax is expected to grow at a profitable rate over the forecast period due to the growing adoption of CBD-based products for the treatment of various medical diseases.
