Strange Lord Mayor Announced at Kampala Carnival

Kampala Metropolitan Traffic Police Commander, buy more about Lawrence Niwabiine has cautioned all independence celebrants who wish to access Kololo Independence Ceremonial Grounds to abide by the Traffic flow guidelines to enable proper traffic management.

Speaking to journalists at Central Police Station (CPS), information pills Niwabiine noted that several stickers have been issued to invited guests directing them on the routes that can be used to access the ceremonial ground.

Niwabiine therefore revealed the following guidelines that shall be in force to ensure a smooth flow of traffic around Kololo Independence Ceremonial grounds.

“Upper Kololo Terrace will be closed to the public from 0600hrs until the end of the function,” he noted.

Guests with vehicle bearing white stickers will access Kololo grounds via John Babiha road, join Elgon Terrace and park at Heros’ corner. These will include VIP’s, ministers, ambassadors who will be led by convey.

Guests with vehicles bearing yellow stickers will also access Kololo via John Babiha road and divert at Lower Kololo Terrace junction, these will alight from their vehicles at Golf Course road junction and their drivers will proceed to park at Hotel Africana.

Vehicles bearing blue stickers will access the venue via Wampewo Avenue and parking will be provided at City High School and KCCA ground near UMA.


Lower Kololo Terrace will be a pedestrian zone from the junction of Golf Course road up to Wampewo Avenue.

Parking for Lorries and buses related to the function at Kololo will be at KCCA ground near Game shopping mall and UMA.

Niwabiine warned that Boda boda cyclists will be restricted on Lower Kololo and Upper Kololo Terraces, Wampewo Avenue and John Bahiba road and park at KCCA ground.

“Thanks you for keeping the city clean and not stealing our lights, Kampala belongs to us so let’s struggle to make it a better place,” KCCA Executive Director, Jennifer Musisi said in her speech.
