Stephen Omony Joins City Oilers on Four Year Deal

Reigning National Basketball League (NBL) champions City Oilers officially confirmed the acquisition of veteran basketball ace Stephen Omony.

City Oilers confirmed that Omony joins the four time league winners on a four year deal in a press briefing held at City Oil service station, view Nakawa on Tuesday.

Omony who is the captain of the men’s national team (Silverbacks) comes in as a perfect replacement for Rwandan Kami Kabange who left the club at the end of last season.

City Oilers president Santur Mohammed believes the acquisition of Omony brings a lot to the team including experience and leadership.

“He has the necessary experience to help us and additionally he comes with leadership because he has been national team captain for a long time, ” he said.

Omony joins the Zone V champions from Falcons and joins a pool of talented players including Jimmy Enabu, Ben Komakech, Jonah Otim and Landry Ndikumana among others.
