Hearing of the case in which Makerere lecturer Dr. Stella Nyanzi is accused of using vulgar language to disturb the peace of President Yoweri Museveni and his late mother Esteri Kokundeka on Monday flopped as the trial magistrate and the state prosecutor failed to show up for commencement of the trial.
Having learnt that the trial grade one magistrate Gladys Kamasanyu as well the prosecutor Mariam Njuki were absent, fellow magistrate Robert Mukanza was compelled to adjourn the matter to 19th of December 2018 for hearing
Stella Nyanzi was remanded until that date
In today’s session was attended by among others former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) President Rtd Col Dr Kiiza Besigye.
Prosecution alleges that on the 16th September 2018 while in Kampala, Nyanzi used a computer to post vulgar messages on her Facebook wall against president M7 and his late mother, however she pleaded not guilty to the charges.
