Stella Nyanzi Asks To Meet Trial Magistrate as Witnesses Shun Her

Former Makerere University Researcher Dr Stella Nyanzi who is accused of disturbing President Yoweri Museveni’s peace using Facebook, has asked the trial magistrate for an opportunity to meet her in chambers.

Nyanzi through her lawyer Isaac Ssemakadde said they had an immediate issue which they needed to talk about out of court.

“In the meeting we are seeking, the prisoner her counsel and a state representative are the only ones who are going to attend” Ssemakadde said.

The trial magistrate Gladys Kamasanyu granted their request and stood over the matter for 30 minutes so that they can meet in her chambers before the hearing.

This followed failure by all expected defense witnesses to turn up in court including Mustapha Mugisha, an ICT expert who was supposed to be the first defence witness
