State Still Investigating Susan Magara’s Murder

Buganda Road grade one magistrate Robert Mukanza has heard from the state prosecution that investigations in the murder of Suzan Magara are still underway.

In this matter, nine suspects are charged with capital offences of kidnap and murder.

Appearing in court today, Prosecution’s Patricia Cingitho informed the trial magistrate that investigations into the case are still on, and asked for an adjournment.

The magistrate pushed the case to September 19th 2018 for further mention, and the accused were sent back to Luzira prison.

The suspects include Mahad Kisalita, the Imam of Usafi Mosque, bodaboda riders Yusuf Lubega and Muzamiru Ssali; Hussein Wasswa, a teacher,  Hajara Nakandi and businessmen  Abubaker Kyewolwa, Hassan Kato Miiro and Ismail Bukenya as well as the  recently charged suspect ; Musa Abbas Buwembo .

Prosecution says the suspects and others still at large, on February 7th 2018 kidnapped Ms Magara with intent to procure a ransom or benefit from her liberation from the danger of being murdered; and later murdered her on 27 February at Kigo in Wakiso district.
