It was all jubilation on Wednesday 4, 2020, as various companies and different entities walked home with several accolades to appreciate their financial reporting through the years.
Stanbic bank holdings limited was not left out as it won the silver award in the category of Integrated Reporting at this year’s Financial Reporting (FiRe) Awards organized by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU).
Speaking at the ceremony, CPA Steven Ineget, the Chairman organizing committee for FiRe awards said that Stanbic’s report was well executed and demonstrated a high degree of professionalism, something that put it at a very competitive level and stood out from the rest.
“Stanbic Bank presented an integrated annual report that was very readable, well organised and comprehensive in scope,” Ineget said.
The report, Ineget noted, showed a high level of creativity in the communication of information about the organization, providing insightful and fascinating explanations of the strategic direction of the organization and the key content elements of its integrated report, hence meeting the International Integrated Reporting Framework.
“The FiRe Awards Committee was particularly excited by the way in which the entity clearly outlined its purpose of using its resources and expertise to create value for a wide variety of stakeholders,” he added.
The 10th edition of the FiRe awards was running under the theme “10 years of Enhanced Financial Reporting: Gliding with Excellence into the future.”
The annual event has registered tremendous success all over the years since its inception in 2011 and has seen more organisations and entities embrace the highly recognized awards.
