Sports Quiz League: Expendables Defend Crown, Aziz Damani Impress

 

The Expendables lived up to their name as they clinched the second edition of the Sports Quiz League on Thurday night at Route256 bar in Lugogo.

Branded as a one man team by their opponents, because of their genius captain Ian Mutenda, the side collected 65 points in the sixth round on their way to totalling 642.5, overall.

Expendables came into this year’s contest as the defending champions having won the inaugural season on 410 points.

Musisi Kiwanuka, Douglas Uwizera, Deus Bugembe and George Senkatuka are the members on the team.

The league that ran for six months from May to October with a round held in every month, saw the Expendables earn Sh1M.

Sixth Round winner took a cash prize of UGX 300,000, the first runner-up – UGX 200,000 and the second runner-up – UGX 100,000, as it was in the previous five rounds.

Betway Agosto who won the sixth round bragging rights managed to come fourth at the end despite staging up a star-studded team of Tuka Brian (Captain -Kwese), Clive Kyazze (Betway PR and Freelance Journalist), Joel Muyita (ChimpReports and FUFA FM), Emanzi Ndyamuhaki (Capital FM and ChimpReports) and Peace Bagala Diane (CBS and BBS TV)

Aziz Damani Virgins On Podium Again

Having started the season on a low note, Money bags, the Aziz Damani Virgins finished fifth overall with 497.5 points.

The team comprising of Innocent Ndawula (Daily Monitor), Brian Kawalya (ChimpReports), Denis Musali (Kawowo), Mark Namanya (Daily Monitor) and Thomas Mwesige (Structural Engineer) ended round six with another podium finish – third.

This was the third time in a row that the ‘Cricket Passionate team’ finished inside the money bracket.

However, the achievement came after a coin toss to eliminate Radio City.

The Team is facilitated by Aziz Damani who also sponsors Aziz Damani and Masaka SS Ladies Cricket clubs.
