Soroti: Police Flying Squad Bursts Criminal Racket, Recovers Stolen Motorcycles 

Police Flying Squad Unit (FSU) in Soroti on Wednesday raided a notorious criminal cartel that has been terrorizing residents of Soroti district and recovered suspected stolen motorcycles.

This operation followed the arrest of a serial motorcycle thug identified as Otwa from Lira who is said to be a member of the deadly racket based in Soroti city.

According to East Kyoga regional spokesperson David Mudong, upon interrogation, it was established that this racket operates in Aswa, North Kyoga, East Kyoga and Elgon regions.

In the operation, a second suspect called Okiror Cosmas was arrested, and was found in possession of two stolen motorcycles which were reportedly stolen from Gulu city.

The  recovered motorcycles are registered number UES 402G and UFB 550H while others yet to be recovered include; UFA 268M, UEY 937T, UEX 233Y, UEW 215P, UEV 631Q, UEV 483Q, UFA 347E and UAF 104Z.

“Upon interrogation, they confirmed that a one Okiror has been their long time end buyer and dealer,” Mudong said

“Owners of recovered motorcycles and number plates are therefore expected to follow up with their various case references,” he added.
