Singer Rema Namakula has Wednesday introduced her new boyfriend Hamza Ssebunya to her parents in a ‘Kukyala’ ceremony.
The ‘Deep in Love’ songbird made her relationship with Ssebunya, a doctor in Mulago hospital, official by introducing him to her family and felt there was no better time than on Independence Day when everyone else was celebrating.
The glamorous ceremony that took place at late Godfrey Mabirizi’s palatial home in Naguru, Kampala, attracted high-class guests including Kampala’s top businessmen and doctors among others.
From the look of things, the ceremony was lavish; in fact, extravagance is the right word to term it. But from the information we have got is that Ssebunya assured those who attended the party that they had not seen anything yet.
Months back, few people could not imagine seeing Rema leaving singer Kenzo with whom she had been in a relationship for long and have a child together.
Weeks later after Rema partied ways with Kenzo, many concerned citizens weighed in on the situation with Deborah Malac, the US ambassador to Uganda requesting to meet the two and try convince Rema to reconsider her decision.
All we can say is that it’s now official that she has moved out of Kenzo’s love life and intends to marry Ssebunya.
