Singer Nabbi Omukazi Remanded

Buganda Road grade one Magistrate Dorothy Bagyenyi on Friday remanded singer Margret Kayima aka Nabbi Omukazi to jail for allegedly attempting to aid a suspect to escape from the country.

Kayima was charged with being Accessory to an offense contrary to section 391 of the Penal code Act.
She denied the charges.

Her lawyers asked court to allow her bail application considering the fact that the offences against her are bailable and that she was not feeling well.

” We pray that basing on the medical evidence she has produced, court should use its discretion and entertain her bail application. ”

However, the Magistrate declined the request, remanded the suspect and adjourned the matter to 22nd December.

Prosecution contends that on 14th November 2020 between Kampala and Mutukula, Kayima and 2 two others assisted Pastor Sirajje Ssemanda of Revival church Bonbo to escape punishment.
