Uganda’s Renowned artist and Saxophonist Isaiah Katumwa has pledged to support young upcoming artists by donating musical instruments.
The singer said that he would be reaching out to different Music institutions where he will be able to donate the instruments to them in a bid to ease access to better quality music instruments.
This was at the press briefing for the launch of his annual Isaiah Katumwa show held at Serena Hotel, Kampala.
According to Katumwa,the aim is to develop talents in the young artists who he believes lack instruments to make their dreams come true.
Katumwa commended what different Music institutions do in promoting music talent mostly to jazz and Soul students in Uganda.
He has been very instrumental in inspiring upcoming saxophonists, not only in Uganda but World over.
The Saxophonist also stressed that inspiring or talking to these artists alone is never enough, which is why he has taken a move to equip them with instruments.
Katumwa also revealed that, there will be a workshop for the young artists, where they will have training sessions from him and Daren Rhan, a day before the show.
Katumwa will be joined by the Beninese singer-songwriter, Angelique Kidjo and the multi-talented artiste and saxophonist, Daren Rahn on the 30th of April at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

While addressing journalists, Katumwa also expressed his excitement to Johnnie Walker for always being part of his journey.

When asked about the tickets, the singer said that they can only be got from Serena Hotel and go for 200K ordinary, and 4 M for a table which comes with food and a bottle of Johnnie Walker Gold reserve.
