The Kasanda South county Member of Parliament, Nsimeo Nsubuga has appealed to Bobi Wine to choose between music and politics since he cannot be “allowed” to practice both.
Nsubuga in a brief statement on Thursday, a day after Bobi’s Boxing Day concert was blocked by police, said the latter has openly vowed to bring President Yoweri Museveni’s 32 year rule to an end and should therefore embrace for consequences.
“The truth remains the truth; no government in this world, you will put on notice that am coming to unseat you from power and you think they will just look on and allow you to operate freely to achieve both your economic and political interests,” said MP Simeo.
According to Simeo, Bobi’s quests to stage concerts for money “conflicts” with his political interests of “unseating” NRM government.
“Our honorable colleague may want to exercise his economic freedom but the truth of the matter is that, it conflicts with his political interests, where he has indicated publicly that he wants state power and determined to unseat the democratically elected government of NRM 2016-2021,” noted Simeo.
The legislator remarked that one of the interests of his Kyadondo East colleague is automatically going to be swallowed by the other.
“So believe me or not, one interest (economics) has to suffer at the expense of the other (politics). You can’t eat your cake and have it. So he has to choose one, you can’t have both and that’s the naked truth,” remarked Simeo.
