A somber mood filled St. Andrews Seseme Cathedral in Kisoro district on Tuesday as hundreds turned up to bid farewell to Sheila Mbonimpa.
Ms Mbonimpa was one of 33 people that perished Saturday evening on Lake Victoria after the ill-fated MV Templar boat they were riding on tipped and sunk a short distance off Mutima Beach.
She was laid to rest at her home in Karunyambo village in Nyarusiza Sub County, Kisoro district on Tuesday afternoon.
Justine Kasule Lumumba, the NRM Secretary General, while speaking at the funeral described Sheila as a down to earth and hardworking lady who will be dearly missed.
She thanked people for coming to grieve with the family.
Meanwhile, a requiem mass for another victim of the accident, Brian Ndoori, known by peers as The Last King, was today held at Kabindi Church of Uganda. He was later buried in Nshora Mabungo Nyarusiza.
Kisoro District religious leaders, politicians, business community friends from all walks of life attended both burials .
