Leaders in the border district of Kisoro have expressed concern over the increased sexual activity among people that have been quarantined in the district over Covid19.
Captain Peter Mugisha, the Kisoro RDC says the 19 quarantined people at Kisoro Primary Teachers College are engaging into sex intercourse.
He saiys the district leaders discovered this after noticing several used condoms scattered around the quarantine area.
Those in quarantine at Kisoro PTC include 4 truck drivers from Kenya that were arrested last week from bars and lodges in Bunagana Town Council; one Rwandese and one Congolese, while the rest are Ugandans.
The RDC says sex is unacceptable in quarantine and warns that it is one of the factors that may lead to spread of coronavirus disease.
He also revealed that some of the Kenyans in quarantine were found in lodge with Ugandan women from Bunagana town.
These women too have been quarantined.
So far among the people that have been quarantined in the district, 10 have been released and they tested negative.
Dr Stephen Nsenbyiunva, the Kisoro DHO Dr. Nsabiyunva appealed to residents to welcome them in their communities.
Those released from quarantine commended Kisoro district coronavirus task force for caring for them well and releasing their results in time.
They vowed to continue observing coronavirus preventive measures in their respective communities.
