Sentamu Influenced Kasirye’s Move to Congolese Side

Uganda cranes striker Davis Kasirye has inked a two year deal with Congolese side Daring Club Motema Pemba from Rwandan giants Rayon sport.

“Five new players have already arrived. These are Thome Yobou (Cote D’ Ivore), pharmacy Davis Kasirye (Ugandan), Ismailla Diara (Mali), Gasinga Chance (Rwanda) and Olive Gakwaya (Rwanda),” the club confirmed.

Kasirye also confirmed the news to this website on Tuesday evening.

“Yes, I have joined Motema Pemba in Congo and I hope to do my best,” he said briefly.

According to his agent, several clubs were interested in the services of the lanky striker from Atalanta FC (Egypt), All Ourab club in Oman to Golden Arrows in South Africa.

“We made a decision to go with Atlanta and DCMP. We the opted to choose DCMP after Yunus Ssentamu (formerly at ASVita) told me how good the green and white boys are,” his agent Fred Mwine said.

The deal is estimated at around USD 60,000 (UGX 180M).


Kasirye scored 13 goals to help Rayon Sports to the second on table with 61 points. He has previously played for Bul FC, SC Victoria, Express and URA FC.
