Wakiso Giants FC midfielder Vianney Sekajugo has been thrilled after being nominated for the Airtel FUFA Awards for the year 2019 in the category of Best of Male Player.
Sekajugo was nominated due to his superb performances in the league while still in Onduparaka last season and his good start at his new club Wakiso Giants this season.
The forward will therefore have to battle it out with fifteen others as confirmed at the launch of the event slated for December 14 this year.
“It’s a great honor to be considered among the top 16 footballers for the top award,” Sekajugo said before adding.
“I want to thank everyone right from where I was last season to the people at Wakiso Giants, teammates, coaches, fans who have contributed to all this,” he added.
Ssekajugo joined the Purple Sharks from Onduparaka in the transfer window and has so far scored four goals in all competitions for the club and made a couple of assists.
He is currently with the national team as they prepare to face Burundi in the CHAN 2020 qualifiers at StarTimes Stadium Lugogo on Saturday October 19th.
