Kansiime Immaculate, a security guard and new mother from Ntungamo is one of the latest winners of URA’s top prize in the Mpa E-receipt Yange Campaign.
Kansiime, who submitted more than 300 receipts, could not contain her joy as she and her husband picked up the motorcycle at the URA service centre in Mbarara yesterday.
“I prayed to God to help me win a gift from the campaign as I filed over 300 e-receipts. I’m grateful to URA and God for the motorcycle. I’m so ecstatic that I’m at a loss for words,” Kansiime remarked.
Other winners included Ivan Magara who received a laptop, Apollo Balya a tablet, Conrad Ruhundwa and Ronias Ainembabazi received smartphones, Nakaziba Zaina and Mucureezi Sosten received travel bags, and Julius Asiimwe a gift package.
Asiimwe’s victory belied rumours that tried to minimize his efforts by claiming that URA wouldn’t reward someone of his calibre.
“Revellers told me that because of my disability, I cannot win, but URA disproved them,” he stated.
While rewarding the winners, Richard Mugalula, the URA-Mbarara team lead commended the community for its voluminous participation in the campaign and challenged them to make a habit of requesting for fiscalised receipts every time they make purchases.
“Keep sending in your e-receipts because there will be a spectacular finale with more prizes to be won. I appreciate you sending over 2,000 e-receipts, Mbarara,” he remarked.
2,765 e-receipts have hit the system from Mbarara City, making it the town with the greatest volume of e-receipts thus far in the campaign.
Next week the Mpa E-receipt Yange excursion extends to the Kampala CBD and surrounding areas ie Kawempe, Rubaga, Makindye, Nakawa, and Kampala Central.
