Top commanders of the rebel SPLA-in-opposition are meeting at Pagak in a major conference to decide whether to proceed with war against the government of South Sudan President Salva Kiir or embrace calls by regional leaders to form a transitional administration with the ruling political system.

Police in Kabale have arrested Kamwezi High School bursar for allegedly murdering his wife.

Magezi is said to have battered Mable Tugumisirize, patient 45 mid-November before on November 27th, she mysteriously fell sick and died only two days later.

It is however reported that when Tugumisirize fell ill, she was taken to a clinic in the area but her relatives went and picked her and took her to Kamirongo Archdeaconry for prayers where she died in the morning hours of November 29th.

The relatives later reported the matter to Kabale Police Station citing that the death had been caused by the domestic violence which was rocking the couple’s home.

Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson, Elly Maate said that Police initiated inquiries, postmortem was done and investigations continue to establish the truth of the matter.

Maate condemned domestic violence in homes, and asked families to always settle issues amicably other than violence.
