Ali Kimera is on the lookout for yet another club as Uganda Premier League side SC Villa ripped up his contract on Monday after the goalkeeper asked for unpaid wages.
A club insider said the agreement had been mutual.
The former SC Victoria University player was recruited at the beginning of the current league season in a massive drive by new Villa President Eng Ben Misagga. More than 12 players were signed on big salaries but Kimera’s request for unpaid wages did not go down well with the club who instead fired him.
The colourful former Victors FC player has had run-ins with many clubs due to his escapades down the years but Ugandan media have sympathised with him this time and former club SCVU are favourites to re-sign him.
SC Villa who last won the league in 2004 finished the first round of the Ugandan League in second place.
