Savannah Region: Gunman Strikes Again, Shoots Dead Boda Boda Rider

Savannah Regional Police is investigating another murder by shooting that happened Thursday night in which one person was killed.

According to the law enforcement agency, an unknown assailant attacked and gunned down a one Luwera Juma aged 27, a boda boda rider at Namaliga Central in Bombo Town Council, Luweero district at around 1 am.

According to a statement issued by the regional spokesperson ASP Isa Semwogerere, “The assailant shot the deceased while on his motorcycle registration number UEU 724/A. The assailant did not take the motorcycle.”

The OC Bombo station and the Scene of Crime Officer (SOCO) have Friday morning visited the scene and preparations are underway to evacuate the body to Mulago hospital for postmortem.

Inquiries have been opened vide BBO CRB 257/2020 to establish the killer and the motive for prosecution.

However, it should be noted that this is the second similar incident to happen in this region in a period of one week.

On August 28, an unknown gunman shot and killed a one Jackson Bisaso, 45 years, who was a resident of Tweyanze village, Katikamu sub-county in Luwero district.

The assailant shot the deceased five times within his home compound and he died instantly. The killer disappeared through a banana plantation without taking anything.


ASP Isa Semwogerere has told this website that they have intensified investigations to have the assailant or assailants who have invaded the region brought to book.

This incident has sent out more shock wave amongst the locals in the region.
