Saudi Arabian Tourist Drowns In River Nile

Marine Police in Kayunga district has Monday morning embarked on a search for a missing Arab tourist who reportedly drowned in River Nile.

According to police, At about 6 P.M on Saturday, Kangulumira Police Station in Kayunga District received information of a sudden death of a one Asubale Mathikar Nasser, aged 45 years old.

Reports indicate that the Nasser had come from Saudi Arabia for a visit in Uganda.

In a statement by Sezibwa Region Police Division, the missing tourist stayed for four days in Kampala and later joined his colleagues in Jinja.

Among the colleagues were an Egyptian national, two people from Saudi Arabia and a Ugandan driver.

It is said that the group traveled to Kalagala Recreation Center along River Nile in Kangulumira sub country in Kayunga District.

It is alleged that the deceased stood on a rock to take a picture, but slid into the river before water falls washed him away.

Hellen Butoto, the Regional Police Spokesperson told chimp corps that relevant statements have been taken from the remaining group and a search is underway by marine experts.
