Popular comedian Patrick Salvador Idringi is set to launch his own comedy show.
The weekly show dubbed ‘Just Comedy,’ will be launched today at a red carpet event in Kampala and will be happening every Wednesday.
The highly anticipated launch will be hosted by Salvador, Napoleone Emah and Ronnie McVex and headlined by celebrated Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi.
It will also feature performances from Ugandan comedians including; Agnes Akite and Mark Agaba among others and music by Kenneth Mugabi and Happy Kyazze.
Speaking about the upcoming event, the ‘Man From Ombokolo’ promised comedy lovers to expect fresh content, a great production and an ample airspace to accommodate their laughter.
Last week, Salvador announced he will be following in the footsteps of popular comedians like Alex Muhangi by hosting his own weekly comedy show.
He revealed that he had been under pressure from fans who had requested for the show but he was only waiting for the right time.
“Everything has its time. It’s taken me this long because I’m a perfectionist, I really wanted the right combination of all factors to do a great show from location to date to sponsors to colleagues to comedians and so on. I needed the right formula,” he said.
The comic also appealed fellow comedians to join hands and work together to leverage the opportunities they can tap from the industry and stressed that having his own show will not mean that he stops supporting other comedians’ shows.
“I’m not about to stop supporting those who need my help and I urge every comedian who believes they have what it takes to make people laugh to never hesitate to contact me,Napoleone Ehmah or Musiimenta Ronnie McVex who have played a significant role as the main brains behind the birth of Just Comedy.”
