Goalkeeper Saidi Keni has renewed his contract with the Uganda Premier League record champions Sports Club Villa for another one and ahalf year.
This was confirmed in a statement released by the club’s Public Relations Officer, Bernard Ewalu on Thursday.
“We are excited to announce that Saidi Keni has put pen to paper on a new contract, which will keep at SC Villa until January 2022. The contract has been signed with the option to extend it for another year,” read part of the statement.
Keni joined the 16-time league winners at the beginning of the 2018/2019 season following his impressive performances while featuring for Proline FC.
Last season, Keni kept Eight clean sheets from the 23 league games he started in Villa’s goal conceding 19 goals.
“I am happy to commit my future to this great club because as a young boy growing up, I dreamed of playing for one of the great clubs of Uganda, and they don’t come any greater than SC Villa. At this point in time, there is no better place for me to further my career than at this great club,” Keni said after renewing his stay at the Jogoos.
He played a crucial role in Sports Club Villa’s last league campaign, finishing third on 46 points, eight behind the champions Vipers and four behind their nearest rivals KCCA.
