Rwenzori Death Toll Rises as Army Storms Palace

More than 40 people including security forces have been killed today Saturday as Ugandan armed forces stormed the palace of a controversial King in Rwenzori area.
Police spokesperson Andrew Kaweesi said 10 police officers were killed by armed militants.
He further said 32 Rwenzururu royal guards were also taken out of action.
This came as security forces try to nip in the bud a possible rebellion in Rwenzori.
The Rwenzururu kingdom led by a former soldier accuse government of marginalization, order a charge officials deny.
The Kingdom is suspected of recruiting and arming a militia to secede from Uganda and create what is known as Yiira Republic.
President Museveni has since warned that the Yiira Republic will never include even one inch of Ugandan soil.
He further said revolutionary leaders who paid a huge price liberating Uganda would never allow such a secession.
Official statistics indicate that 8 people were today killed in Kasese Municipality.
Three died in Maliba market; two in Bugoye; three in Kagando, viagra approved Kisinga and three in Bwesumbu.
Government deputy spokesperson Shaban Bantariza said weapons were found in Rwenzururu palace.
He further stated that militias which have been running training camps in Rwenzururu were found at the palace.
The turmoil in Kasese has since raised fears of a growing insurgency.
