President Yoweri Museveni on Tuesday afternoon presided over this year’s Heroes’ Day Celebrations amidst calls for consolidation of Uganda’s attained peace and serenity.

About 900 persons were handed various medals; among them government spokesperson Mr Ofwono Opondo.
Speaking at the event, President Yoweri Museveni praised the Ugandans who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the battle before naming the place an NRM holy ground.
“We fought many battles here, but most important was on the 21st of June, 1985. This battle was fought at Kembogo, and that was a decisive battle that brought down the regime of UPC. Our force was commanded by Salim Saleh, and was finally won here in this area,” he informed.
Quoting the biblical passage where Moses encountered God in a miraculous burning bush, Museveni said Kiboga was comparably a holy ground for the current government.
“I don’t want equate NRM to God, but people should know that when you come here, this is a sacred ground for the NRM because many lives were lost here,” he said.
He thanked the people in the districts of Kiboga, Luwero Nakaseke and Mubende which make up the Luwero triangle, who supported the struggle for liberation.
He noted, “This subcounty is called Dwanilo [battle field] and the name could have represented the old battles between Bunyoro and Buganda but it had been forgotten. When it became our own Dwanilo, the population revived the name.
He added that the NRA battle was not tribal, but was a fight for democracy, by all freedom lacking Ugandans.
Museveni went ahead to caution those with the intention of distorting Uganda’s peace that these would not be tolerated.
The 4G Square was inaugurated by Olleh Rwanda network (ORn) on 9th July 2015 in Kigali City to accommodate all 4G LTE internet providers.

According to Rwanda’s Minister of Youth and ICT Jean Philbert Nsengimana, 4G Square is designed as an experience center where people will receive explanation regarding 4G LTE as well as learn new innovations.
Minister Nsengimana further stressed the need for the public to use internet infrastructures that Government partners have initiated in order to develop themselves.
The CEO of Rwanda Development Board, Francis Gatare said the 4G Square was initiated not only to facilitate connectivity, but also to create a space for entrepreneurs.
4G LTE which was launched in Rwanda in November 2014 is so far accessible in five cities across Rwanda – Kigali, Rubavu, Rusizi, Huye and Musanze, however there are plans to extend its accessibility in other cities soon.
