You’ve probably seen the hysteria on social media about A ka Dope weekend and couldn’t help but wonder what it is about.
For starters, it’s a production of Ugandan musical voices that brings artists from various genres and disciplines, allowing them to share an audience and platform.
For the first episode of the third season slated for July 8 and 9, 2017, a horde of talented crooners and divas has been lined up for the show.
Unlike other shows where artists put up solo performance, A ka Dope weekend intends to fuse two parallel genres, for the fans’ listening pleasure.
This will be part of the fusion concert that aims at bringing together artists from different disciplines to fuse their sound.
Confirmed couples for the show include ; Jc Muyonjo & Sandy Soul, Cynthia & Body of Brian, Jackie Akello & Haka, Afrie & Moze & St Nelly Sade, Ekky & Pryce Teeba, Shifah Musisi & Kenneth Mugabi, Solome & Lagum, Byg Ben & Apio, Truth & Suubi among others.
Besides the art and poetry, we’ve been informed that the show will feature Disk Jockeys (Deejays).
Radiocity’s Black and Proud presenter Deejay JO has been lined up alongside RPM and Beekay, among other spinners.
