A 22-year-old man is nursing serious wounds at Rwenshama Health Centre III after he was attacked by a buffalo in Queen Elizabeth National Park, in Rukungiri district as he was heading to participate in the NRM primary elections.
Akampurira Gerald was an agent of one of the candidates Natukunda Medius Kaharata.
While walking to the Nchwera polling station he was accosted by the animal near Rwenshama fishing village.
The buffalo reportedly tore into his abdomen and tossed him into the thorny bushes.
Hoe was saved by passers-by who rushed him to Rwenshama Health centre III.
Akampurira’s mother Joselyn Tibenderana says his condition had not yet stabilized.
