Residents of Nshungyezi trading centre in Buyanja Sub County, Rukungiri district were on Sunday morning thrown into shock after finding an area resident hanging on a rope in his house.
The deceased is Kenneth Mushoborozi aka Seketa, the 43-year-old head teacher of Kyamutariga Primary school in Kebisoni Sub county.
The community learnt of Mushoborozi’s death after his son tried to wake him up as usual to open the shop but wasn’t responding.
The neighbours and relatives told our reporter that the deceased has been battling mental illness which could have caused this act.
According to Elly Maate the Kigezi Region Police spokesman, the deceased had supper at home on Saturday even and later went on to sleep at his shop in Nshungyezi trading centre where he was staying with the son in the boy’s quarters.
He however decided to take his own life in the night.
“I imagine that whichever reasons he had for doing so could have been sorted out in a better method than the one of taking his own life,” Maate said .
