Rubirizi: MP Katoto Faces Brother As Bataringaya Battles Husband in Parliamentary Races

As the 2021 parliamentary and local government elections heat up, two brothers, a husband and his wife are contesting for same parliamentary seats in Rubirizi district in the coming NRM primaries.

Hatwib Katoto the current Katerera county MP will need to shake off his elder brother Muhammed Katoto who is eyeing the same seat.

The brothers are said to have developed misunderstands which culminated in competing against each other in the 2016 election, in which Hatwib emerged winner.

The two are now set to face off in the primaries which are slated for later this week.

Hatwib however insists that there is no bad blood between them, stressing that contesting is his brother’s constitutional right.

Meanwhile, in the district woman MP race, the incumbent, Hon Kesande Grace Bataringaya has decided to contest for the Bunyaruguru County seat.

The same seat however is being eyed by her husband.

The couple is said to have had marital disagreements recently.
