Lasuli Ngobi a Chapatti makeshift stall owner, and resident of Mubende Town, is among the recent batch of winners to walk away with a Tukonectinge branded Toyota wish from Crown Beverages, under the ongoing Tukonectinge with Pepsi promotion.
“I am thankful to Allah who granted me an early Eid gift. I did not expect it, though I prayed for a miracle.” Ngobi said, adding that, “During the Ramadhan season, I would buy sodas for my neighbours at work and keep the bottle tops which I would later send the codes with my partner to enter the Tukonectinge promo and stand a chance to win” he remarked.
“I paired with my wife who was sceptical at first, but when we both received airtime and later mobile money at the initial stages of taking part in the promotion, she became a devoted participant and I am glad she finally bought in,” added Ngobi.
Ngobi explained that owning a car came sooner than expected because his chapatti business barely makes him enough to meet his personal and family expenses and only expresses his gratitude to Allah who made this dream become a reality.
Speaking at the car handover ceremony, Mr. Allan Bob Mbabazi, Mubende, the Territory Sales Manager, Crown Beverages Limited said that, “This year’s promotion is aimed at deepening existing and creating new relationships in Uganda, by connecting people with those they love and care about particularly during the festive seasons of Easter, Martyrs day and the Ramadhan period, especially for our Muslim brothers who are in Saum, thus seeking to bring about togetherness with family and friends.”
Through the campaign, Pepsi has reward its consumers with a total of; 10 out of 25 Toyota Wish Cars, 18 out 24 fully paid trips to Dubai, 6 out of the 24 Fridges, among other prizes including instant mobile money, airtime in different denominations and soda.
“The 25th car will be given to the participant with the highest SMS entries throughout the campaign,” added Mr. Mbabazi.
The under the crown campaign that was unveiled to the public in mid-April will run until early July, 2019.
