US megastar rapper William Leonard Roberts better known by his stage name Rick Ross is scheduled to hold a music concert in Uganda.
The Uganda Benefit concert date has not been scheduled yet, but was confirmed for the Post-Covid19 period in the near future.
It is being organized CTI AFRICA, and is meant to celebrate and support health workers in Uganda.
“The Uganda Benefit Concert is designed to celebrate and re-ignite the Ugandan Spirit, the culture and most importantly to share hope” – David Mihigo, Head of Marketing and Partnerships CTI AFRICA, the main promoter.
“As an appreciation to health workers for their hard work, perseverance and sacrifices that they made to ensure the wellbeing of each citizen across the country, the Uganda Benefit Concert aims to appreciate and celebrate them while giving them support to do more. The concert will also have a lineup of several Ugandan and African artists.”
Rick Ross is a rapper and entrepreneur who was the first artist signed to P. Diddy’s Ciroc Entertainment. He founded his own music label, Maybach Music Group, in 2009. Rick Ross is a five time Grammy Award Nominee and his Gold Rose song featuring Drake was nominated as Best Hip Hop song in the 2020 Grammy Awards.
He recently confirmed his upcoming trip to Uganda which he said is to “make history.”
The concert is jointly produced by Uganda’s top promoters Swangz Avenue, Talent Africa and Malembe.
“After everything Uganda and the rest of the world has battled for the past couple of months, we thought what better way could there be to remind us that we are stronger together” said Julius Kyazze from Swangaz Avenue.
