Resilient She Cranes Finish 8th as Australia Take World Crown

Uganda national Netball team, more about diagnosis She Cranes have ended their 10-day World Cup appearance on a high, no rx finishing in the top ten teams in the world.

This was in spite of losing six consecutive matches that includes the 64-41 to Welsh National team on the last match.

She Cranes have only managed two wins in the opening stages against fellow Africans Zambia (74-38) and Fiji (61-40).

The two wins sent the team to the last eight therefore ensuring a top eight berth.

Australia strolled to their eleventh title after edging a hard fighting Silver Ferns from New Zealand team by only three goals (58-55).

England wrapped up the top three seeing of the Sunshine girls from Jamaica 66-44.

Malawi Queens top scorer Mwayi Kumwenza was voted the most valuable player of the tournament

This was Uganda’s second participation in the Netball World Cup.


Their first appearance was in 1979 in Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago.
