Relief: Isolated Foreigners Test Negative of Coronavirus

Samples which were taken off four foreigners that showed signs of the deadly Coronavirus (COVID19 have turned out negative.

This was revealed Monday afternoon by Health Minister DrJane Ruth Aceng.

Ministry officials and the country at large held their breath through Monday morning as samples from the four unmade individuals underwent tests at the Uganda Virus Research Institute.

Aceng announced today however, that the results showed “that all four foreign nationals currently under isolation at Entebbe RRH have tested NEGATIVE for COVID19.

“As of today, Uganda has no case of COVID19,” she said.

The four foreigners were earlier picked up from Entebbe International Airport after presenting with flu and cough symptoms by our surveillance teams.

The global death toll of Corona Virus has, as of Monday, exceeded 3000.

Uganda, like many other countries still free of the virus, remains on high alert for an almost inevitable outbreak.
