Proline FC Coach Mujib Kasule has revealed that his side still has a big chance to survive the drop.
Mujib claims said that his side just needs to start winning matches and not think about what is happening elsewhere.
Currently, Proline who are now under a poor spell are second from the bottom with 19 points from 21 games.
With the setup of the Uganda Premier League, the last three teams on the log (16th, 15th and 14th) after 30 games are relegated to the second tier (big league).
In the race for survival, Express FC and Masavu FC at the other two teams in the Red zone – The three teams are all on 19 points.
Proline FC are set to host Onduparaka FC on Wednesday at Lugogo, opponents in the relegation zone especially Express FC have tight ties too. When asked about whether he looks on the other side to see how his opponents are faring, Mujib Kasule replied:
“We can’t avoid looking the other way but the most important thing is to win our remaining fixtures.
“We need to win like five matches and dont lose the others. So as long as we do that, we may be safe and I believe that the struggle is still in our hands.”
He added: “We just have to continue looking into our selves because even if they lose, it will not help us unless we win our matches.”
It should be noted that Proline FC are yet to win a league game this year, they are on an eight game winless run; their last victory was a 2-0 win against Bright Stars in November 2017.
Also, the club has gone seven league matches without finding the back of the net.
