Just when you thought that legendary roots reggae musician David Amon Ssemanda Ssematimba famously known as Madoxx was sleeping without getting big gigs anymore, he is at the peak of it these days.
His concert dubbed ‘The Legend’ came after years of him performing locally in bars and small functions, but the truth is, he is back with great performances.
After his return from Sweden years back, Madoxx was hardly seen appearing in some of the big shows in town but we can authoritatively reveal that he has now joined the list of big acts gracing massive events once more.
‘Faded’ singer was the best word used to describe him in the newspapers and all over social media when he used to go around with his guitar performing in small hangouts for just a small fee and sometimes for free.
Thanks to God, his music is that special kind, the lyrics, delivered in quite a simple and straightforward manner seem to be his backup and he will not be going down anytime soon, but will always remain relevant in the industry.
His songs still dominate airwaves in Uganda probably due to the singer’s commanding lyrics which carry messages of love, peace and unity among others.
The singer put up an amazing concert on Friday 4th at Sheraton hotel where he treated revelers to his never fading hits including Namagembe, Easy and Nakatude among others.
Since then, he has continued performing in big events with the most recent being at the Nexus lounge third anniversary ceremony alongside Cindy, where he equally worked on the party goers, the fan’s favourite hits like they were just released yesterday.
Madoxx released his ‘Abato’ album way back in 2006 following the success of ‘Tukolagane’ which was released in 2000, consisting of his great hits such as Namagembe,Easy,Omukwano Gwaffe,Nakatude and Irene among others which people enjoy up to date.
For sure if music be the food for the soul, music lovers would get true satisfaction from his timeless hits.
It still remains unclear when he will be releasing yet another album, but judging from his talk, he will not be releasing any album soon.
The last time he spoke to Chimpreports, the singer said that he sees no need of rushing to release music albums.
“I am a very selective person who does not rush into things when I am not ready. I have to carefully plan for the best for my fans and reggae lovers.”
