Referees to Handle Vipers, Platinum Stars Game Revealed

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) referees standing committee have released the match officials (referees) that will handle the first round games of the 2017 Total Confederation cup.

Uganda’s representatives Vipers SC will play against Platinum stars from South Africa with the Venoms hosting first.

The first leg in Kampala between 10th- 12th March has been assigned to centre referee Osiase William William Koko from Lesotho.

He will be assisted by fellow countrymen Moabi Canisius Makara (first assistant) and Mapoho Mapoho (second assistant).

Bestor Kalombo from Malawi has been appointed as the match commissioner.

However, shop Vipers are yet to decide on the venue to host the first leg still awaiting for clearance for the newly constructed St. Mary’s stadium in Kitende or continue using Mandela National stadium.

The match officials to handle the return leg at the Royal Bafokerg stadium on 18th March were also appointed.

Swaziland’s trio of Mbongiseni Elliot Fakudze (centre referee), Gcina Sam Mamba (first assistant) and Sifiso Nxumalo (2nd assistant) will officiate the return leg in South Africa.

Vipers eliminated Comoros’ Volcan  Clube de Moroni (1-1) on aggregate to set a date with Platinum stars who ejected Mozambique’s UD Songo.
