TIDAL, a subscription-based music streaming service that allows users get full access to music with high quality sound and expertly curated music videos.
The App which is currently available in over 50 Countries, partnered with MTN Uganda to give MTN customers a feel of the best live stream Music experience.
MTN customers can stream TIDAL Music from not just their Smart phones, but other devices including; tablets, desktops and available on Android (Android: OS version 6+) and iOS devices (iOS: OS version 10.3+) OS Window 7+ and mac OSX 10.9
Explaining to journalists how Tidal works, Odeke Onyait, the Manager Digital Services GTM said that the app is user low on data and has over 70 Million songs with over 250,000 Music Videos.
The reason why TIDAL is very different from other online is due to its flexibility and convenience. The app has over 70 million high quality songs and over 250,000 high quality music videos with a wide curation of International and local music.
Owned by American Rapper Jay-Z and a variety of other successful music artists, the app is the first artist-owned streaming service in the world.
Some of the local artistes on the app include; Chameleone, Vinka, Sheebah, Geosteady, Radio & Weasel, Irene Ntale, Rema, Beenie Gunter, Spice Diana, Winnie Nwagi, Apass and Levixone among others.
To subscribe, all one needs to do is dial *165*66#, Select TIDAL and activate the preferred subscription as simple as that.
According to Onyait, customers can only pay for subscription using MTN Mobile Money and can choose subscription of their convenience.
Some of the benefits of the app include; subscription with or without streaming data, subsidized subscription for MTN Pulsers and access to exclusive content releases available on TIDAL among others.
“If it is your first time on TIDAL, Select and activate TIDAL FREE trial which will allow you a one- time free trial of TIDAL for 30 days. If you don’t want the Free trial, proceed to activate a paid for subscription.
If you have already completed your FREE trial on TIDAL: Select and activate a subscription of your choice. You will have to pay for the subscription depending on the period you are comfortable with,” said Onyait.
Upon subscription, the user will receive 2 SMS one with your TIDAL Logins and another with a link to the App Store or Play Store to download the TIDAL App.the user can then open the App after successfully downloading it and can then be able to login using the MTN number as the username.
TIDAL FREE trial
As part of the service, all first-time users are given the option to try the service for FREE. This is a one off offer aimed at introducing users to TIDAL app.
With the FREE trial a user gets 30 days of unpaid access to TIDAL music streaming which as well includes streaming data.
At the expiry of the FREE trial offer, a user MUST activate a paid for subscription to continue accessing the app.
Subscription Only: This gives a user access to TIDAL service. However, the user must also activate a normal data bundle to stream music.
Subscription with Data: This gives the user access to TIDAL Service including data which allows a user to stream the service without buying data.
MTN Pulse Offer with Data: This gives the user access to TIDAL Service including data. Meanwhile, this discounted offer is only limited to MTN Pulse customers.
In case you uninstall the TIDAL app, you don’t have to subscribe again as long as your Subscription is still active.
Simply download and re-install it, then login and If your TIDAL Subscription has expired, then download the TIDAL App and then subscribe again to TIDAL by Dialing *165*66#
Users will be charged a daily fee of Shs600 without data, Shs1500 with data, Shs10,000 for 30 days without data and Shs15,000 with data.
Whereas those on MTN Pulse will only get to pay Shs1000 for daily, Shs2000 for 3 days, Shs5000 for 7days and only Shs12000 for 30 days.
