Hon Godfrey Kiwanda Suubi the Minister of State for Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities has unveiled Miss World Africa Quinn Abenakyo as the country’s goodwill Tourism Ambassador.
According to Kiwanda, the Ministry needs to utilize Abenakyo’s brand and promote Uganda’s Tourism potential within and outside the country in the next Tourism drive.
“This year’s Tourism campaign will begin on 12th February with the Eastern Region and Abenakyo will be with us, we shall be covering Jinja,Mbale and some parts of Karamoja –Kidepo, then we come back via Acholi Murchison Falls National Park,” revealed Kiwanda.
While addressing Journalists at the Golden Tulip Hotel Kampala, Hon Kiwanda urged the public to join the tourism campaigns so as to get to know their own country.
Kiwanda also revealed this year’s Tourism theme as sharing our story in order to achieve bigger Tourism numbers.
“This year’s Tourism Theme is sharing our story in order to achieve bigger tourism numbers through the digital transformation era 2019 and the slogan is “Lets tell our story well” he said.
The Minister further on explained the Ministry’s achievements in 2018 as well as unveiling the 2019’s expectations.
Abenakyo disclosed to the public that she is committed to offering her very best when it comes to raising Uganda’s name high at all aspects.
“I will do this once again for my country that am so proud of, am honored to work with the Ministry of Tourism and the Uganda Tourism Board to make sure that everyone gets to know our story as the Pearl of Africa,” said Abenakyo.
