President Yoweri Museveni has promoted three Prosecutors in the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) to the rank of Assistant DPP.
The Promoted officers are Odumbi Owere, Komuhangi Khauka and Mr Vincent Wagona.
According to State Attorney Jacquelyn Okui, the spokesperson of the ODPP, these appointments are in line with the efforts to respond to improved service delivery requirements
“The ODPP celebrates the appointments and looks forward to experiencing improved leadership, inspections, quality assurance, research, training, and international cooperation” Okui said.
The ODDP has four directorates, three of which have been lacking leaders.
Mr. Odumbi James Owere has been serving as the Principal Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions caretaking the Directorate of Inspections, Quality Assurance, Research and Training.
Mr. Vincent Wagona has been the Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions caretaking the Directorate of Management Support Services and serving as the Accounting Officer.
Ms. Alice Komuhangi Khaukha has been Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions heading the Anti-Corruption Department.
The three directorates will be headed by the three appointed officers
