The Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU) is set to hold their Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday, September 9th, 2017 at Fairway Hotel Kampala.
According to Paul Mwirigi, the PRAU Public relations director, this year’s meeting will focus on the financial position of the organization and review the activities that the body has carried out in the year 2016/2017, plus a work plan for 2017/2018.
Mwirigi told ChimpLyf that;
“Top on the agenda for this year’s AGM is; (a) to receive and consider the statement of accounts and the statement of financial position of the Association for the year ended 31 December 2016,
(b) Review and adoption of 2016 AGM minutes,
(c) Discussions of activity reports 2016/2017,
(d) Discussion of the 2017/2018 plans and reactions,
(e) PRAU Excellence Awards concept 2017 and
(f) PRAU Awards Training.”
According to Article 7 of the PRAU Constitution, the ‘Annual General Meeting consists of all the members of the Association and shall perform the following roles:
Supreme decision making body of the Association, deliberate and formulate policy for the Association, make final decisions on any matter pertaining to the Association, do any other thing deemed to be in the interest of the Association and through election put in place or return office bearers to any posts in the Governing Council and any ad hoc committees as may be established’.
Furthermore Article 19 of the PRAU Constitution states that ‘the Annual General Meeting shall meet annually’.
“In addition to the official agenda the PR AU membership will network and discuss issues that are affecting their industry, top of which is disruption by new forms of digital media and seeking advice on professional and career growth,” Mwirigi noted
